Trendwell reports: read, share and explore

Trendwell brings available Apple Health measurements together into daily and weekly reports. You can review the findings in the app, copy or share the report text, or save structured results for use in another tool.

The reports are generated on your device using defined rules. An external AI service is an optional next step that you control. It does not produce Trendwell’s findings.

JSON is a file format with named fields for tools to read. You do not need to write code to save a file and attach it to a service that accepts JSON. It is useful when dates, units and missing values need to remain explicit. It does not make the measurements or the receiving tool more reliable by itself.

Start with the reporting period

A Trendwell day is anchored to 20:00 local time, with a delayed rollover. It is not a midnight-to-midnight calendar day. The current period can still be in progress.

A Weekly report brings together seven daily windows, including the current window. It is not necessarily a Monday-to-Sunday week, and it may contain incomplete or missing days. Read the period and coverage before comparing reports.

Choose Daily to examine the detail of one reporting window. Choose Weekly to see which changes recur across days and how the available measures compare with recent weeks. A longer period provides more context only where suitable data exists.

Read or share a report

Open a Daily or Weekly report. Use Graphics for the visual summary and Export for the readable report. In the report’s Export view, Copy copies its heading and text. The share button—the square with an upward arrow—opens the system share sheet for that text.

The Export tab is a text view; the JSON actions are in Apple Shortcuts.

For a PDF, open Health Trends or Follow-Up Report, choose an available range and use its PDF share button. Health Trends offers One Week, 2 Weeks and One Month; One Month represents 28 days. Follow-Up Report offers 30 Days, 8 Weeks and 90 Days.

Full report copying, sharing and PDF export require active access. The monthly subscription and Trendwell Forever unlock the same reporting access.

Save a Daily or Weekly JSON file

Set up Trendwell and allow access to the Apple Health categories you want it to read. The export actions also require active Trendwell access.

  1. In Apple Shortcuts, create a new shortcut and search its actions for Trendwell.
  2. Add Create Daily Agent Export or Create Weekly Agent Export. The corresponding app shortcut tiles are named Daily Agent Export and Weekly Agent Export.
  3. Add Apple’s Save File action immediately after it. Set its input to the file returned by the Trendwell action.
  4. Choose a save destination, or keep the option to choose a location when you run the shortcut.
  5. Run the shortcut. Check that the destination contains the resulting .json file.
  6. If you want external analysis, attach the saved file separately in a tool that accepts JSON.

The Trendwell action creates and returns a file. Save File stores it. A successful export action without a save or another destination action does not by itself put a file in your chosen folder.

These actions generate combined Daily or Weekly analysis from the data available when they run. They do not copy whichever saved report happens to be open. If an export differs from an earlier report, check the report type, reporting period, generation time and whether more Apple Health data has arrived.

The standard export actions do not upload to an AI service. Any additional saving, sharing or scheduling you configure in Shortcuts is part of your own workflow.

What the structured exports preserve

Both exports include the reporting period, generation time, Trendwell’s findings, supporting values and data-quality information. They contain prepared analytical results, rather than a complete dump of Apple Health records or a copy of the report’s prose.

Daily includes available comparisons with the previous daily window and recent 7- and 30-window references for supported measures. Weekly includes daily summaries and available comparisons with the previous weekly period and the four preceding weekly periods. Missing periods remain gaps; an older observation is not silently substituted for a missing immediately prior period.

The Weekly Detailed Analysis also presents a Personal Reference Snapshot. The weekly export carries structured comparison and reference information for the same purpose. This is a rolling reference to your recent recorded data, not a fixed starting baseline, a target or proof of good health.

Some information may have been measured before the report period. Latest-known measurements such as blood pressure, weight or cardio fitness have their own dates. Read those dates before treating a value as current. Medication records may also be included where supported and accessible; an empty or unavailable record is not proof that no medication was taken.

A useful external AI workflow

Start with a specific question: “What changed between these two weeks, and which comparisons have enough data?” is more useful than asking for a general verdict on your health.

  1. Choose the report or export that covers the question. Keep the original unchanged.
  2. Add only the dated context you want to share, such as a change in watch wear or a period of travel. Label your own notes separately from Trendwell’s findings.
  3. Attach the material to your chosen service and use the optional report-review prompt.
  4. Ask it to check coverage and comparability before interpreting a change.
  5. Check important statements against the source report. Keep calculations, interpretations and possible explanations separate.

For example, a tool can identify that a weekly value changed while also noting that fewer nights were recorded. It can help you see what remains uncertain. It cannot establish the cause of that change from those facts alone.

You can use copied text for this workflow. JSON is an alternative when structured fields are useful, not a requirement for asking questions about a report. Follow-Up Report PDFs are also readable records, although a receiving tool may extract text and charts imperfectly.

Privacy and limits

Trendwell generates reports and exports on your device. Copying, sharing or saving them somewhere else is a separate action. Your chosen storage provider or AI service handles the information under its own terms.

An export can include sensitive health information, dates and medication records. Review what you share, remove identifiers you do not need, and check the receiving service’s retention and data-use settings. Keep any edited sharing copy separate from the original.

Trendwell is designed around Apple Watch data available in Apple Health. Other sources may provide some measures, but coverage and source eligibility vary. Sleep-related findings need recorded sleep data. A missing observation is unknown, not a normal result.

Deterministic reporting means the same inputs, settings and calculation version produce the same findings. New data, a different window or a software change can alter the result. An external AI response is separate and can make mistakes even with a careful prompt.

Trendwell does not diagnose, recommend treatment or tell you how to train, rest or change medication. A stable label or the absence of a supported instability finding does not rule out a medical condition or establish that an activity is safe.
